Wines by Bibiana Spring Release 2024

As a winemaker who has roamed the prestigious vineyards of Bordeaux and Burgundy at the start of my wine career, I am thrilled to share with you my deep-rooted passion for terroir and the unparalleled beauty it brings to winemaking. My journey began amidst the rolling hills of France, where I honed my craft and absorbed centuries of winemaking tradition. The intricate dance between soil, climate, and grape varietals in Bordeaux and Burgundy taught me the profound impact that terroir can have on a wine’s character and quality.

2023 Alma de Cattleya Sauvignon Blanc
2022 Cattleya Beyond The Threshold Chardonnay
2022 Cattleya Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

The 2023 Alma de Cattleya Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of fruit from a few different vineyards in Sonoma County, and for this vintage specially, they are all located along the beautiful Russian River. This diversity plays a pivotal role in shaping the distinctive character of this Sauvignon Blanc. Sonoma’s varied microclimates, influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, different elevations, and soil compositions, create an ideal environment for Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The cool coastal breezes help preserve the grapes’ natural acidity while allowing them to ripen slowly, and with the meticulous care we take during fermentation, the result is a mouthwateringly vibrant and crisp wine. Ready to drink now, you’ll find this Sauvignon Blanc will certainly excite your palate with every glass.

The 2022 Beyond The Threshold Chardonnay comes from the Sun Chase Vineyard, situated 1,100 feet high atop a west-facing slope in the Sonoma Coast AVA. The terroir of this area exerts a profound influence on the character and quality of our Chardonnay. The vineyard’s well-drained, rocky soils contribute distinct mineral nuances to the wine as well, resulting in a fresh, aromatic Chardonnay. This is one of my favorite Chardonnay’s to make, I always have great anticipation to hear what you think about this wine each new vintage we release.

The 2022 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir hails from a distinctive vineyard owned and farmed by the Martinelli Family since 1998 and old vines of Calera Clone planted at the Ritchie Vineyard. Located in the Santa Rosa Plain, the Martinelli blocks of clone 115, 667, 777 enjoy a well drained soil of Goldridge formations, where the sandy-loam composition ensures the vine vigor is low and the maturity ripening process is unhurried and complete. The small clusters of Pinot Noir ripen slowly at both sites, allowing for a perfect fruit driven aromatic profile, balanced acidity and supple tannins. The resulting blend is intriguing, complex and seductive with a long finish.
