Bibiana in Travel + Leisure Magazine

Great News!

As a big fan of travel, I am honored and excited to share the news that we’ve been featured in Travel + Leisure magazine’s article, “California women that are changing the way we drink,” by Morgan Goldberg.

Learning about my small collection of wine brands, Cattleya, Alma de Cattleya, and Shared Notes takes a certain level of curiosity and research on the part of our unique customers. Maybe we’ve met at a local winemaker dinner, tasting, charity event, or you’ve read about me in a wine publication. Wine articles often (and logically) describe me in the context of my previous winemaking positions in California and France, so an article focusing on what we are building now at Cattleya – with an all-female team – fills me with excitement, satisfaction, and gratitude.

Speaking of write-ups, please enjoy reading the recent tasting notes from Wine Spectator’s MaryAnn Worobiec for our 2020 Temptress Chardonnay.

As a Senior Editor and Napa Bureau Chief who judges the merits and quality standards for so many outstanding wines, we are proud the Temptress is considered of “superior character and style” by such a seasoned critic.

We produced just 200 cases and are offering them first to our mailing list customers. Hopefully, by the time you’ve finished reading the mouth-watering description & rating, we’ll still have enough left in our cellar! I knew those wild ridges above the fog line skirting the Pacific Ocean, born of ancient geologic upheaval, had the ability to convey pure fruit flavors, savory botanical aromatics, and mouth-watering acidity. I fell in love with the region including its challenges and rewards, and the spectacular Burgundian varieties it produces.

We’d love to see you

Welcoming customers to the winery is one of my biggest pleasures of being a winemaker. It allows me to learn first-hand about your experience with my wines and encourages me to improve year after year to create even better, more extraordinary wines.

I invite you to book a personalized and behind-the-scenes winery experience by contacting Margaret Villarreal at: or scheduling online at

We look forward to welcoming you as well as your family and friends in the very near future!
