2022 Spring Release
As we welcome the year 2022, I am excited to release our new wine from Cattleya. And given the limited availability of Cattleya this season, we are also showing wines from our sister label: Alma de Cattleya.
2022 will be a year of great significance for us. This year we are releasing what will be our tenth bottling of Cattleya wines. 2022 will also be memorable as it recognizes the unfortunate absence of our 2020 Cattleya cuvées of Pinot Noir and Syrah. Many of our wine loving followers are aware that California experienced devastating fires in 2020. These fires were much earlier in the growing season than ever before and as a result had more impactful consequences. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we made the difficult decision to forgo the harvest of all red wines this vintage.
However, life knows how to bring a silver lining to the most difficult situations. The Chardonnay grapes for the 2020 vintage were beautifully matured, and in turn gifted us with the great fruit needed to make spectacular wines. With this release we welcome the Cuvée Number Five Chardonnay.
This wine was born from high-elevation sites. The meticulously-farmed rows rest at or above 900 feet of elevation in the Sonoma Coast AVA. As I continue to work with this fruit, I find myself enjoying more and more the textural elements from these vineyards, while still preserving beautiful and vibrant acidity.

Finally, we are proud to release a very special rosé of Pinot Noir. This rosé is a showcase of old school winemaking techniques of aging in neutral French oak barrels and treating the grapes with the utmost respect. It is safe to say that this is a wine that will always have you reaching for another glass (or bottle!).
